HERE FOR THE UNDERDOGHelp a Buddy Fund aims to increase the number of animals that are protected from abuse or neglect through supportive partnerships, activism, securing physical resources, and alleviating the financial burden for animal welfare groups in Alberta, Canada.

MEET BUDDYIt all started with one dog: Buddy. Buddy was kept in foster care for four years through a local animal rescue. She was 14 years old at the time she was taken into care. Buddy suffered from various medical conditions that prevented her from being adopted. While never permanently adopted, Buddy left paw prints on the hearts of the two foster homes she spent her final years. It is in her honour that Help a Buddy was created. Buddy will be remembered as the dog who loved the following:

BELLA BUCKSAnimal rescues in Alberta can apply for emergency funding related to emergency vet procedures of animals in their care.

VOLUNTEERWe are 100% volunteer-run. We need all hands on deck from event support, graphic design, and involvement at the Board level.
ANNUAL GRANTSIn March of each year, our granting program opens up to rescues eligible for larger grants that alleviate financial stress.

We partner with rescues all over Alberta to host joint fundraisers that will benefit animals in need. Our fundraising alleviates the stress of organizing large fundraisers and provides manpower to animal charities who are struggling with recruiting volunteers. We are open to all fundraising ideas and have hosted a variety of joint fundraisers from paint parties, to video game marathons, to online silent auctions!
